Speak Kind Words

April_6

Hello Angel Friends,

James W. Foley (1874-1939) wrote “Dropping Pebbles in the Stream” in 1911.  The angels directed me toward this poem as I was thinking about discussing the “ripple effect” with you. I wanted to stress how important it is to speak kind words – and how our actions and words effect not only those we are addressing, but in turn,  who they interact with that day, and again, who those people interact with, and on, and on.  That one act of kindness goes a very long way due to the ripple effect – so it’s no wonder the angels sent me this poem to share. Take these words to heart and really understand this very important message. Let this moment become a defining moment in your life.

“Dropping Pebbles in the Stream”                                                                                by James W. Foley

Drop a pebble in the water – just a splash and it is gone.
But there’s half-a-hundred ripples circling on, and on, and on.
Spreading, spreading from the center, flowing on out to sea,
And there’s no way of telling where the end is going to be.
Drop a pebble in the water – in a minute you forget,
But there’s little waves a-flowing and there’s ripples circling yet;
All the ripples flowing, flowing to a mighty wave have grown,
And you’ve disturbed a might river – just by dropping a stone.

Drop an unkind word or careless – in a minute it is gone,
But there’s half-a-hundred ripples circling on, and on, and on.
They keep spreading, spreading, spreading from the center as they go,
And there’s no way to stop them, once you’ve started them to flow.
Drop an unkind word or careless – in a minute you forget,
But there’s little waves a-flowing and there’s ripples circling yet;
And perhaps in some sad heart a mighty wave of tears you’ve stirred,
And disturbed a life that was happy when you dropped an unkind word.

Drop a word of cheer and kindness – just a flash and it is gone,
But there’s half-a-hundred ripples circling on, and on, and on,
Bearing hope and joy and comfort on each splashing, dashing wave,
Till you wouldn’t believe the volume of the one kind word you gave.
Drop a word of cheer and kindness – in a minute you forget,
But there’s gladness still a-swelling and there’s joy a-circling yet;
And you’ve rolled a wave of comfort whose sweet music can be heard
Over miles and miles of water – just by dropping a kind word.

Try to drop at least one kind word to someone each day and watch the wave of kindness come back to you threefold, or maybe even more – and this we call having abundance.

In Love and Light,

Pam
